Research has long shown that early intervention during middle school can change the trajectory of a student's academic career and life path. As one of the first organizations to create an early intervention college access model, the Breakthrough Collaborative has confirmed this research with high-impact programs that have opened the door to college for thousands of at-risk middle school students over the last thirty years. The success of programs like Breakthrough have led to an increase in out of school programming options, especially those focused on this age group.
