Executive Director Alison Glastein is stepping down August 28, making a desired career shift from education to healthcare. Alison had a profound and positive influence on BTC, and we are sad to see her go. While we search for a permanent replacement, we enthusiastically welcome BTC Board Member Elissa Spelman as Interim Executive Director. Elissa brings deep knowledge of and commitment to our organization, an M.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Education, elementary school teaching experience, and comprehensive knowledge of education nonprofits in greater Boston. She was most recently Director of the Wellington Management Foundation and their Philanthropy and Community Engagement Office, where her efforts were solely focused on supporting academic programs for low-income youth, especially college access and out-of-school-time programming.
